Here’s a list of some flicks with the horror and thriller theme that runs a shiver down the spines of all.

Marion Crane craving for marriage with Sam, lands herself in a sticky situation when she steals the money given to her to be deposited for her company. A series of murders and no one knows what has happened to Marion, not even her lover Sam. There’s an investigator on the case and a few other characters, all trying to find out the mysterious disappearance of Marion and the money.

Carol is a manicurist who works in London and lives with her sister who has a disgusting lover married to somebody else. When they leave for a vacation, Carol slowly turns in to a complete recluse and loses her mind. She is so repulsed by everything sexual that she imagines grotesque things and even murders brutally in her madness. It is a movie to be watched for the absolute madness and insanity of a woman who has lost her mind to an irrational repulsion.

A young, married couple Guy and Rosemary Woodhouse shift to a new apartment, their neighbour being an elderly couple, who Rosemary feels, interfere a lot in their lives. When they decide to have a child, Rosemary is forced to eat chocolate mousse offered by the elderly lady, after which she has a horrifying nightmare. Things turn bad after this and she feels lost since Guy adores the couple and is happy with the way things are. She has the horrible feeling that their friends are out to get her baby for some sort of satanic worship. What she finds out in the end is what shocks her to death, well almost!

Judith Myers is brutally murdered by her own brother who is deranged and highly dangerous. This happened 15 years ago and now Michael is 21 years old, and the past seems to return to haunt the present with Michael returning to the old, now abandoned, Myers house. Meanwhile there are a set of doctors looking out against the evil that Michael can unleash. As the movie progresses there are vicious murders. Where is Michael now? Has Laurie killed him? You will realize slowly, that the evil man is still out there, waiting to kill again!

· The Shining (1980)

Jack Torrance takes up the caretaker’s job in the Overlook Hotel after he loses his position as a teacher. His son Danny has visions of murder being committed repeatedly. Danny is attracted to a room that he has been warned against entering. When Danny enters the room, he is attacked and Wendy finds Jack about Danny’s killing nightmare almost simultaneously. The climax is nail-bitingly scary with Jack, Wendy and Danny in the thick of things. Some of the scenes here will knock the hell out of the viewers. The last scene of the movie tells you the secret of why everything is happening.

Christine is cursed by a woman for not helping her with a loan that needs to be cleared and thus ill fate befalls her. In desperation, she tries to pass on the accursed button as a gift to the woman who gave it to her in the first place. The curse has set the demon Lamia on her and nothing Christine does helps her out of the situation. In the end, somebody is truly dragged to hell. Who is it? Did Christine survive? The plot is full with various supernatural characters and mentions.
